It is unknown what the original lookout was like in 1916, but in 1934 a L-4 cab was built.  It was abandoned on Oct. 22, 1951.  It is the second oldest lookout in the Salmon-Challis National Forest.  In 2011 it was entered into the National Historic Lookout registry and mainainted by volunteers.
